    ZACD Human Resource
    Intern (2019)

As a HR Business Partner intern at ZACD, I was assigned to 2 departments: my core department and Youth Ventures. For me, interning at ZACD has been thoroughly enriching. I have learnt our HR practices and the entire recruitment process. This is an extremely rare opportunity for an intern. I attribute this optimal learning environment to my mentor in HR, who has been proactively guiding and giving me feedback during my time here.

On the other hand, ZACD Youth Ventures is a department where interns have almost-complete autonomy to execute company-wide initiatives – I myself had the opportunity to head a few company-wide events! It was empowering to see our youths having a stake at impacting the culture at ZACD. I experienced a free space for thoughts. During our regular meetings, the youths & I had the opportunity to voice out our views. We will discuss what actions we can take to bring employees together; value add and grow alongside the company. It is because of such an open culture that we have formed close bonds and friendships with one another. Onward, we are intending to value-add the mainstream of business via real estate initiatives and ideas. It is rare to find a company having a separate department for the youths of the company. This opportunity has made me feel valued and empowered as we all have a stake in ZACD.

If you are keen in being in a high energy culture of creativity and flexibility, you would be most valued at ZACD. Drop the friendliest HR team with your application today at the contact page.

    ZACD Project Development
    Junior Associate (2017-2018)
    Junior Executive (2018-2019)

During the recent school term, I did a 6 month part-time work with ZACD under the Junior Associate (JA) Program. I was able to gain many new insights to the real estate industry and also had a great time in my time at ZACD. As a junior associate, I was privileged to enjoy a lot of benefits and opportunities in ZACD. My job scope entails helping with the feasibility studies for overseas market for various types of real estate projects, from hotels to industrial buildings. Under the projects and development department, I had the chance to attend client meetings and site visits with my supervisors, which enabled me to see my book knowledge being applied.

In addition, I was given opportunities outside of my seconded department to help out and plan social company events for ZACD Group. I led a bonding event (ZACD Social Day) where the staffs got together to make their own sushi for their tea break in the company. Also, I was also in charge of the programs in ZACD Fun Day where the staff could bring their family and bond with other staffs from different departments. Through the planning of these events, I learnt a lot from my Junior Executives and improved on my leadership skills.

In all, I am very thankful that I had this opportunity to work in ZACD as a Junior Associate. The flexibility allowed me to work from office or home during my academic year in NUS. Our supervisors were very understanding whenever we had upcoming exams or tests where we could not make it to office. I will take a lot of fond memories and friendship in ZACD with me as I end my JA term here, and the experience and knowledge I have gained is something I look forward to applying in my future endeavors.

    Project & Development
    Intern (2018)
    Junior Executive (2018-2019)

Throughout my 9-months internship stint at ZACD, I was given the opportunity to be involved in various projects such as project marketing and government tender. My team and colleagues were always willing to offer their guidance and share their experiences. The company’s open culture created a conducive environment for me to acquire the relevant skills that will prepare me for the dynamic working world. What sets this internship apart from others is the bond created among the youths where we spearheaded projects such as family day, career fairs, and site visit to Malaysia. It has been my greatest pleasure to be part of the ZACD family!

    Intern (2018)

With work-life balance and a casual atmosphere at work, interning at Searix was an amazing experience. I especially love how the boss is so open-minded and open to suggestions, making us even more motivated at work. With minimal experience in digital marketing, I was thankful to have received much guidance from the respective colleagues. Taking away skills such as the use of Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics to improve a company's marketing effort, this internship has given me the opportunity to take up these relevant marketing skills, which I believe other firms would not be able to equip me with. Most importantly, I have met many cool and awesome people at Searix who made my internship experience an even more enjoyable one (my ping pong skills have definitely improved because of multiple practices with these people)! Interning at Searix is definitely an unforgettable experience and I am glad to have been given this opportunity.

Before my internship, I did not have any expectations. However, the 10 weeks of internship was truly an eye opener. The job scope as an IT intern was beyond what was taught in class. It made me realised that to excel in the IT industry, we should not just stay in our comfort zone. As an aspiring software developer, I had to come out of my software comfort zone. However, this also provided me more relevant knowledge and skills out of the classroom, when I am exposed to the hardware side of the IT industry as well.  During the internship period, there were also sharing sessions from Jonathan, the IT department’s manager. These sharing sessions allowed the team to share their knowledge in fields such as security and the IT infrastructure of an enterprise. But most importantly, these sessions opened my mind to more future career paths. My internship in ZACD was fulfilling and would recommend this position to prospective interns who wish to have a wholesome experience in the IT industry.

    Business Development
    Intern (2018)

With every satisfied client and every successful business deal clinched, most people tend to think of effective communication and CRM by the front line officers. Being given this opportunity to work with the business operations department, I begin to better appreciate the vital role the middle office have in ensuring front-line coordination and success. Coupled with the immense support, guidance and amicable working environment, I had an enjoyable experience learning to manage the real estate investment value chain through the lens of a staff in the business operations department. We ensure proper fund documentation and administration for a swift and smooth client onboarding, and are the next line of defence against unaccredited investors by investing effort in KYC and AML compliance checks. Overall, we work hand in hand to deliver a pleasant experience for our clients.

My internship with ZACD Group / SLP International was enriching and eye-opening as I have never been expose to the world of real estate and their project development process. I was able to learn a thing or two when it comes to investing in properties, whether they are safe to invest. I was also able to understand if a project is feasible to progress and etc. I am very glad to be able to learn something from a renown real estate firm as it is closely related to the course/career then I will be venturing on in the future.

    Project Development
    Intern (2018)

Ending my 10-week intership at ZACD Investments at the Acquisitions and Project Development departments with an alumni BBQ cum farewell session reminded me of the many valuable friendships and unforgettable moments I forged over this summer break. Truly, it is the people make a company. The team at ZACD is a friendly, open, helpful and undeniably capable group of people who highly value teamwork, integrity and quality work. These are key traits I believe should be cornerstone to every good company, and many individuals in the office exhibited such commendable spirit. Interning under the Acquisitions and Project Development department exposed me to a wide variety of work across the real estate value chain. From conducting preliminary financial analysis, crafting decks of feasibility studies, to sourcing for potential clients and sitting in on business meetings, I definitely learnt a great deal. Both in terms of content knowledge on the multi-faceted role of a real estate developer and soft skills in negotiation, pitching and communication. Regardless of whether I decide to pursue a path in the real estate sector, I strongly believe the skills I have gleaned from my time at ZACD will serve me well in my following years to come as I pave the way for my career.

    Junior Executive (2018-2019)

I was very nervous when I first started my internship with the company because I have no idea what I need to do. At the same time, I am not sure if the company has good working atmosphere. However, as time passes, I enjoy working with all my colleagues and I am very pleased to have Sarah as my supervisor. She always gives me wise advises, I've learnt many new things from her. I am also very lucky to work with the youth department to organize certain company events. It is so precious to have people with the same mindset and working towards the same goal. We have developed strong friendship beyond company. Overall, I really enjoy my internship here in ZACD!

  • Charles Teo

    ZACD POSH
    Intern (2018)

During my internship at ZACD, I was a digital marketing intern in Searix department. I was exposed to new applications such as Slack and Trello on the very first day of my internship and I learnt how to use them to improve my productivity at work. My colleagues were cool and friendly people who helped me integrate into the company quickly. The company pantry was always restocked promptly, and the culture was easy-going in general. It was not an all work and no play environment as the table tennis table and dartboard in the office presented opportunities for everyone to take a break from work and bond together. Moreover, I learnt about analytics tracking with Google Tag Manager from my supervisor and I helped to create educational materials based on that in the form of PowerPoint slides. All in all, I have gained fundamental knowledge about Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics, which I had none prior to the internship and I am thankful for the opportunity ZACD has given me to work at Searix.

  • Wayne Lo

    Project Development
    Intern (2018)

During the recent summer break, I did a 10-week long internship with ZACD. My time in the company was really fruitful and enriching as I was given numerous opportunities to apply what I have learnt in school in actual real estate projects. As a member of the Project Development team, I was tasked to assist in feasibility studies and financial analyses for acquisition and redevelopment projects in overseas markets such as Australia. Beyond desk work, I also had the chance to go on site visits to ZACD’s industrial developments in Tuas and even Johor’s Forest City!

The company’s open culture had definitely made it easy for me to settle in and learn from the extensive wealth of knowledge and expertise that my supervisors and colleagues have. Not only did my team value my input and opinions, they were approachable and helpful in providing guidance and feedback on how I can improve the quality and presentation of my work. Through this internship, I gained many relevant skills that would prepare me for work in a dynamic real estate industry! Also thanks to the friendliness of other ZACD Youths, it was a truly valuable and enjoyable internship!

    Human Resource
    Intern (2018)
    Junior Executive (2018-2019)

Throughout my internship stint here at ZACD, all of the staff were very accommodating which in turn created a conducive environment for me. I was most appreciative that ZACD practices a very much flat structure where I could turn to any colleagues to ask for help. The support came around as great guidance as it was also my first HR internship! Given the autonomy found in various platforms in ZACD, there was opportunity for me to join the company back as a Junior Executive. I have the fondest memories from ZACD Family Day where the youths took charge in planning and executing for the company! I even stepped up to took up an emcee role along with my fellow HR colleague 😀

  • Jonathan Lee

    SLP Global Business
    Junior Associate (2018)

The Junior Associate programme was a very enriching experience as it allowed me to gain practical working experience concurrent to my school semester. The programme was structured such that it struck a fine balance between my studies and my working commitments. My supervisor, Sarah was very understanding and supportive. She provided a fine balance between patient step by step guidance while giving me the freedom to make my own decisions and learn at my own pace. She understood the importance of on the ground field knowledge and would often encourage me to go out to various project sites and get a first-hand experience of the subject matter. This not only allowed me to understand my work better but instilled in me a deeper sense of appreciation, one that cannot be gained from school alone. Overall, this was a very nurturing programme that equipped me with the skills integral for people taking their first steps into the working world.

  • Shereen Ng

    SLP Global Homes
    Intern (2017)
    Junior Executive (2017-2018)

At the start of my internship, I did not have high expectations. However, the past 9 weeks has truly been an eye-opener. What really surprised me was how much the company valued our opinions and input, even though we had little working experience.

Our supervisors placed a lot of emphasis on creating learning opportunities for us and not just tasking us with mundane daily operations and administrative tasks. We also had many opportunities to take charge on various projects and initiatives and what I really liked about the working environment was the autonomy we were afforded along with the guidance and support of our supervisors.

  • Mei Sian, Kang

    SLP Global Homes
    Intern (2017)
    Junior Executive (2017-2018)

Interning at the company, I learnt far beyond what was taught in school. It was a great experience to get to apply and adapt what I learned to real-world tasks and assignments. Also, the input and guidance from my supervisors were extremely helpful.

Not only did they guide and mentor me, they also encouraged me to try new things even if it ended up with me making a mistake. This internship experience far surpassed what I had expected. Not only did I get to learn how the company functions, but I was also given many real-life projects to work on, which included attending meetings and discussions with clients, developers and even the government! This past nine weeks with the company has truly been extremely enriching and I will make full use of the many skills that I learnt here for my future endeavors.

  • Alyssa Koh

    SLP Capital Markets
    Intern (2017)
    Junior Executive (2017-2018)

This internship was very insightful for me as I learnt how dynamic the industry is. Beyond what we learnt in school, there is alot of knowledge that can only be gained on the ground, and this company gave me many opportunities to be involved in various property marketing projects, as well as meet clients, to learn how the industry really works. (something you won’t learn in school!)

I was also empowered by my supervisors to spearhead new initiatives for the company, and was also involved in a PPP project. Overall, I enjoyed this internship for the relevant skills learnt, and the vibrant, enriching environment that I got to hone them in.

  • Wing Kwan

    SLP Scotia
    Intern (2017)
    Junior Executive (2017-2018)

My time at the company was really enriching and it helped to bridge the gap between school and the workforce. I was given the opportunity to witness the entire process to market local and overseas properties. Moreover, my supervisors were very willing to share their expertise and gave me a lot of constructive feedback while preparing a marketing deck for one of the overseas properties.

Being able to meet various CRM (Customer Relationship Manager) app creators also helped me to better understand how dynamic the industry is! It was my fortune to have worked alongside such passionate and inspiring professionals who never ceased to amaze me with how eager they were to mentor young adults!
